Exam Overview
Zilla Parishad recruitment is one of the state's largest hiring processes, with openings for candidates from class 10 pass through to graduates: Gramsevak, Health Worker, Junior Engineer, Anganwadi Supervisor, Pharmacy Officer and Junior Assistant, among others.
Each post has its own examination and a candidate may apply for several posts within one district.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements vary by post. Common to all: Maharashtra domicile, knowledge of Marathi and, for most posts, an MS-CIT or equivalent certificate. Technical posts additionally require the relevant diploma or degree and registration.
Age Limit
18-38 years (Open), 18-43 (backward classes) and 18-45 for persons with disability.

Exam Pattern
A computer-based test with no interview: 15 questions each in Marathi, English, general knowledge and reasoning, plus 40 post-specific technical questions. 100 questions, 200 marks, 90 minutes, 25% negative marking. The technical section alone is 80 marks - 40% of the paper.
Syllabus
Common sections: Marathi, English, general knowledge with strong emphasis on Panchayat Raj and rural development schemes, and reasoning.
Technical sections follow the post: Panchayat Raj and the 73rd Amendment for Gramsevak; public health and national health programmes for Health Worker; civil engineering for Junior Engineer; child development and ICDS for Supervisor; pharmacology for Pharmacy Officer.
Salary & Posts
Village Development Officer and Health Worker sit around S-8 (₹35,000-44,000 gross), Junior Engineer at S-13 (₹50,000-56,000) and Gramsevak and Junior Assistant at S-6 (₹30,000-35,000).
Cut Off
Cut-offs vary widely by post and district. Typical Open-category ranges out of 200: Gramsevak 145-165, Health Worker 130-150, Junior Engineer 135-155 and Junior Assistant 140-160.
How to Prepare
1. The technical section decides it
80 of 200 marks are post-specific. Common-section scores cluster; the gap opens in the technical paper, so give it half your preparation time.
2. Master Panchayat Raj
Core for Gramsevak, but it appears in the general knowledge of every post: the 73rd Amendment, the three-tier structure, Gram Sabha powers and the Village Panchayat Act.
3. Make a list of rural development schemes
MGNREGA, Jal Jeevan Mission, Swachh Bharat, PMAY-Gramin - objectives, beneficiaries and funding are reliably asked.
4. Apply for several posts
The common sections are shared, so each extra post costs only its technical syllabus.
